QMBC Prayer News

November 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, In our August Prayer News we focused on what constitutes the Truth. The Lord Jesus said, “I am the truth” (John 14.6). He also said in his prayer to his Father, “I have given them your word . . .” (John 17.14) and “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17.17). We now know and are assured that the Bible is “the Word of Truth” (2 Cor. 6.7 -KJV). As an example of how the rationale of the people of the world is in conflict with the plain teaching of Scripture, consider the future world population. People think that it will steadily increase, and that there will be no apocalypse; […]

QMBC Prayer News

August 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As we write, the ABC is conducting a programme on “Truth Telling”. Indeed, lots of people today want to know the truth about many things. We contend that the Word of God – the Bible – is the only source of real truth. While it doesn’t give the truth about everything, it does give the truth that is essential to our eternal well-being. God has graciously enabled us by various means to satisfy ourselves beyond all reasonable doubt that the Bible is what it claims to be – the Word of Truth. When being interrogated by Pilate, Jesus said, “I came into the world to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of […]

QMBC Prayer News

May 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, It is with a sense of great thankfulness to God that we can look back 40 years since QMBC first commenced in March 1978. During the early years we had some 30 volunteers who gave of their time and talents to the work. We should also acknowledge the deputation work undertaken by Beres Northcott (the founder), Lucy Moorhouse and others, in substantially boosting student enrolments in earlier days. Over the 40 years we have enrolled hundreds of thousands of students, and we trust and pray that the lessons sent to them will continue to bear fruit for eternity. Recently, there has been a serious drop-off in student returns. Please continue your fervent prayers […]

QMBC Prayer News

February 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As we enter a new year, we would draw fresh encouragement from the Word of God. There had been a victory at Mizpah, and so the prophet Samuel set up a memorial stone to celebrate the occasion (1 Sam. 7.12). He called it Ebenezer – “Hitherto has the LORD helped us” – to acknowledge the help of God. We too can raise our “Ebenezer” as we recall the blessings of the past year. But we must not stay there; we must move forward to see what can be accomplished for the Lord this new year. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward […]

QMBC Prayer News

November 2017 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, Thank you for continuing to support the work of QMBC, both in your prayers and practical support. There are various ways by which you can do this; e.g., some are finding opportunities of encouraging young people to enrol with us. This is very important because of the ever-increasing spiritual darkness in the world, especially in regard to Satan’s lures to keep people distracted from finding the truth. The truth is found alone in the Lord Jesus, who said himself: “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14.6). He prayed for his disciples that they might be protected from the evil one, and that his Father would “sanctify them by […]

QMBC Prayer News

May 2017 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, We have just been reminded again of the significance of Easter, and whilst the bastions of Christianity are being assailed on every hand and side, it is good to know that Easter is still being kept up. Some do this by keeping the Jewish Passover, but we as Christians are called upon to keep the Lord’s Supper, which has for its main focus the remembrance of the Lord Jesus – His eternal being, His incarnation, His sufferings as a man culminating in His death on the cross, and His glorious resurrection from the dead. The Scriptures remind us that “He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence”, having first “appeared […]

QMBC Prayer News

February 2017 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, We trust that, as we have entered a new year, we have already experienced happiness in the Lord and in His work. The Psalmist declares: “Blessed [or Happy] is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, the Maker of heaven and earth. . .” (Psa. 146.5). Indeed, as we go about our daily work, how good it is to experience His presence with us and to be re-assured of hope for the future. As we view the world around us, we see chaos and a breakdown of law and order; left to man things will get worse and worse. In the last few days, […]

QMBC Prayer News

November 2016 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, In our previous Q.M.B.C. Prayer News, we deplored the moral state of the world, and it continues to grow worse. The Apostle Paul said that “evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse” (2 Tim 3:13) and the Lord Jesus said that “such things must happen, but the end is still to come” (Matt 24:6). So we wait patiently for these words to be fulfilled. First we who have put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air (1Thess 4:16-17), after which the end will come for those left behind. How important it is to preach the Gospel, to urge people to escape the coming wrath! As […]

QMBC Prayer News

August 2016 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, We are living at a time when the world around us is becoming more terrible by the day – murders on every hand and side, and people throwing up their hands in despair asking, “why does God continue to allow these things to happen?” And yet the Lord Jesus said to His disciples, “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14.27). So why should Christians share the world’s despair with them? In the last few days we have heard acceptance speeches from the Republican and Democratic nominees for the next President of the USA, telling us how they would correct all wrongs and restore the USA and the […]

QMBC Prayer News

May 2016 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As we write another Prayer News, we are deeply appreciative of your prayers for this work and for our students. We cannot but be affected by the events taking place in the world today. We believe that the Lord’s coming is near (James 5.8), and according to His own promise, He will come again and receive us to be with Himself (see John 14.3). Please pray for our students, that they will realize the importance of the Scriptures they study, and that they will be ready to go with the Lord Jesus when He returns. Your prayers, both public and private, are powerful and effective (James 5.16), and your involvement in the work of QMBC in this way will […]
