November 2023 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As we draw towards the close of another year, one thing is certain – there are no guarantees in this life. There is no guarantee that we will make it to next year, or to our next birthday, or that we will see tomorrow. The only thing that is guaranteed in this life is death (and taxes) according to one famous writer. Yet the Bible gives us a guarantee by God, of who we are and what He will do. Ephesians 1:13-14. “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy […]

May 2023 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6) How often do we start a task, a job or a project and we never seem to get it finished? Perhaps we lose interest or another job takes priority. Maybe there are events out of our control that prevent us from progressing further. Not so with the LORD. When God created the heaven and the earth He saw everything that He had made and it was very good, such that on the seventh day He rested, for it was finished (Genesis 2:1-2). When God’s Son died […]

November 2022 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, This world is in turmoil and men’s hearts are failing them for fear, but as believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, we have the assurance that God is in full control of every situation. First Corinthians chapter13:4, shows us that God is patient and long-suffering. May we follow His example, and be patient and endure until His return. Charity suffers long. Charity (love) originates from God for ‘God is love’ (1 John 4:8). Love is personified in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ as He displayed it in His life and in His death on the cross. ‘Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent […]

May 2022 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, The current war in Ukraine has no apparent end in the near future. With reports of Ukrainian forces fighting against Russian troops, there are bombs and missile strikes in civilian areas in the battle for cities in the Ukraine. Thousands of people have been killed and many more displaced from their homes. There is great uncertainty in this war, and who will be the victor, despite both sides claiming they will prevail in the end. For the Christian, there is another war going on – the flesh versus the Spirit. “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so […]

November 2021 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, ‘But those on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard theword, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience’ Luke 8:15 The biggest sand island in the world, Fraser Island, is home to a multitude of plants, trees and vegetation. But how can anything grow in sand? A fungus helps nutrients to appear and survive in the sand, and therefore allows seeds to then germinate and grow. Otherwise, it would be impossible for growth in such poor soil. This reminds us of the Lord Jesus’ parable of the sower and the seed (the word of God) as it was scattered to different environments (Luke 8:4-15). There […]

August 2021 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, Despite worldwide quarantines, lockdowns and periods of isolation, God is still at work in this pandemic. From the very first verse of our Bibles we read of God at work in creation (Genesis 1:1). But what was God’s occupation before He created the heaven and the earth? The scriptures mention at least five divine acts: Love (for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. John 17:24). There was everlasting and perfect love of the Father for his Son. Wisdom (I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was…when he appointed the foundations of the earth. Proverbs 8:23-29). There was wisdom from God which was by him […]

May 2021 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, During the past 12 months we have all wondered how long this pandemic will continue, and what purposes God will accomplish in allowing such a global event to occur. Our finite minds will never know, but for the believer there is always hope and joy at the end of turmoil. Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Such seasons are temporary. The restrictions faced in lockdown and quarantine are temporary. The time away from friends, family and loved ones is temporary. In God’s divine plan this pandemic is temporary. However just as seasons of […]

February 2021 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, Welcome to the first QMBC Prayer News for 2021.  We trust you all had a blessed Christmas season.  While we do not know what this year will bring, we know that we can trust our loving God to meet our need in every situation.  Maybe this year the Lord will come to take His people home – what a happy prospect!  In these times of great uncertainty and perplexity, we must turn to the Word of God for strength and encouragement. We can also sing Bible-based hymns and songs, like this one by Smith and Clarke: I do not know what lies ahead, the way I cannot see; Yet one stands near to […]

August 2020 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, Greetings from all the workers at QMBC.  We pray that you are all keeping well and free from the virus.
