QMBC Prayer News

February 2020 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners Another year has commenced and we trust you all had an enjoyable Christmas/New Year season.  Perhaps this will be the year of the Lord’s return, what a wonderful thought!  In reviewing recent comments in our Q.M.B.C. Prayer News, it may seem that we have been painting a rather gloomy picture of current events and things soon to take place. Whilst this is of concern to each of us, we feel we should lift our sights and our spirits, and be more occupied with the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Scripture says, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay” (Heb. 10.37). So we […]

QMBC Prayer News

November 2019 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, The news is full of distressing things happening around the world. Many people are being driven to their wits’ end, but Christians have the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to comfort, guide and encourage. The Apostle Paul exhorted the Christians to fill their minds with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy; then they could experience the promise that the God of peace would be with them (Phil. 4.8-9). The Lord Jesus promised rest for our souls (Matt. 11.29), and He said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts […]

QMBC Prayer News

August 2019 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, Most will agree that we are living in times of increasing breakdown of ethical and moral standards and a progressive abandonment of Bible principles. What is more alarming is the watering down of the message of salvation to the exclusion of repentance and the need to enter on a path of separation from the sinful practices of a past life. The Apostle Paul said that, “if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Cor. 5.17). And the Apostle John said, “No one who lives in him [i.e., in Christ] keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him […]

May 2019 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As all Australians would know, we will shortly have another Federal Election. It is said that the people will have their say, and determine the outcome. However, the Bible paints a different picture. The Apostle Paul wrote of the plan of God “who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” (Eph. 1.11). Even the great Nebuchadnezzar was inspired to write: “Now I , Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble” (Dan. 4.37). Paul also wrote: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, […]

QMBC Prayer News

February 2019 Greetings from all of us at QMBC! We acknowledge the goodness of our God and His help during the past year, and we can look forward with confidence to another year of serving Him in this work. An analysis of the daily news, whether local or international, shows that in many ways the world is headed for doom. Man cannot fix the problems, but God can and will in His own good time. By way of encouragement for us Christians, let us look briefly at some Bible passages touching on our future blessings. Even in his deepest sufferings, the Lord Jesus had his heart set on “the joy set before him” (Heb. 12.2). How much more do we […]

QMBC Prayer News

November 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, In our August Prayer News we focused on what constitutes the Truth. The Lord Jesus said, “I am the truth” (John 14.6). He also said in his prayer to his Father, “I have given them your word . . .” (John 17.14) and “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17.17). We now know and are assured that the Bible is “the Word of Truth” (2 Cor. 6.7 -KJV). As an example of how the rationale of the people of the world is in conflict with the plain teaching of Scripture, consider the future world population. People think that it will steadily increase, and that there will be no apocalypse; […]

QMBC Prayer News

August 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As we write, the ABC is conducting a programme on “Truth Telling”. Indeed, lots of people today want to know the truth about many things. We contend that the Word of God – the Bible – is the only source of real truth. While it doesn’t give the truth about everything, it does give the truth that is essential to our eternal well-being. God has graciously enabled us by various means to satisfy ourselves beyond all reasonable doubt that the Bible is what it claims to be – the Word of Truth. When being interrogated by Pilate, Jesus said, “I came into the world to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of […]

QMBC Prayer News

May 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, It is with a sense of great thankfulness to God that we can look back 40 years since QMBC first commenced in March 1978. During the early years we had some 30 volunteers who gave of their time and talents to the work. We should also acknowledge the deputation work undertaken by Beres Northcott (the founder), Lucy Moorhouse and others, in substantially boosting student enrolments in earlier days. Over the 40 years we have enrolled hundreds of thousands of students, and we trust and pray that the lessons sent to them will continue to bear fruit for eternity. Recently, there has been a serious drop-off in student returns. Please continue your fervent prayers […]

QMBC Prayer News

February 2018 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, As we enter a new year, we would draw fresh encouragement from the Word of God. There had been a victory at Mizpah, and so the prophet Samuel set up a memorial stone to celebrate the occasion (1 Sam. 7.12). He called it Ebenezer – “Hitherto has the LORD helped us” – to acknowledge the help of God. We too can raise our “Ebenezer” as we recall the blessings of the past year. But we must not stay there; we must move forward to see what can be accomplished for the Lord this new year. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward […]
